Heated back belt: what you need to know
A heated belt applies gentle, continuous warmth to the lower back or abdomen. The area relaxes, the feeling of stiffness decreases, and there is nothing else to do but stay seated or lying down. It is the simplest solution in the whole range, and often the first one people try.
Temperature and duration
Models generally offer three levels, between roughly 40 and 55 °C. The middle level covers most uses. A cycle lasts fifteen to thirty minutes, with an automatic shut-off at the end of the programme: an important safety feature, since it is easy to doze off.
Wired, USB or battery
Wired or USB versions stay plugged in and suit use at home or in the office. Battery versions are worn under clothing and leave you free to move, with a runtime that depends on the heat level chosen.
Vibrating massage
Some models add vibration motors spread across the pad. The combination of heat plus vibration is more stimulating; if you mainly want to relax, heat alone is enough.
Precautions
Do not apply heat directly to bare skin for a prolonged period, nor to an inflamed, recently injured or numb area. These items are comfort products, not medical devices.
