Foot and ankle support: four families
The range covers fairly different needs, which are best distinguished before choosing.
The compression ankle support
In elastic mesh, it wraps the joint, warms it and gives a proprioceptive cue during exercise. It slips into the shoe and is worn under a sock.
The strapped brace
It adds crossed straps, sometimes side reinforcements, to limit twisting movements of the ankle. It is the model for pivot sports and for returning to activity.
The night splint with adjustable angle
It holds the foot at a fixed angle to the leg during sleep, so that the sole of the foot and the calf stay in an extended position. The angle is adjusted in notches.
The metatarsal pad
It slips into the shoe, under the forefoot, to spread the load better. In gel or silicone, it rinses in warm water and can be reused.
Size, side and precautions
Check the ankle circumference and, for left/right models, the side available on the product page. These are support and comfort items, not medical devices: after a sprain, or if pain persists when walking, seek advice from a healthcare professional.
