Model comparison

Bottes de compression et leur sacoche de transport

Three boot models, prices that range from one to two, and spec sheets that all look alike. This page lays out the real differences, then gives a clear recommendation according to your use.

Start with the deciding question

Where are you going to use them? It is the only criterion that really rules models out.

  • Always in the same place, in an armchair or on a sofa: a mains-powered model is more than enough, and it costs less for the same features.
  • A bit everywhere — living room, bedroom, office, even the sports bag: you need a built-in battery. The control unit then fits in the boot and nothing trails on the floor.

What the number of chambers changes

The air chambers inflate one after the other, from the foot to the thigh. With 4 chambers, the wave is marked but coarse; with 6 or 8, it is more progressive and the sensation more enveloping. Beyond 8, the gain becomes hard to perceive: it is no longer a selection criterion.

Display, control unit or app

A physical control unit is adjusted without thinking, including by someone who has not installed the app. An app allows finer settings, chamber by chamber, but means having your phone within reach at every session. If in doubt, the control unit is the safest choice: it is the one still in use after six months.

Pressure is not an argument

High pressure does not make the session more effective, only less comfortable. All the models in the range cover the useful range. Start at the lowest level and increase gradually, session after session.

Size

Measure the thigh circumference at its widest point, leg straight. It is this measurement, not your trouser size, that determines whether the boot closes comfortably. If in doubt between two sizes, take the larger one: a boot that is too big can be tightened with the zip, a boot that is too small will not close.

In short

  • Home use, contained budget → mains-powered model, 8 chambers, control unit.
  • Mobile use, regular sessions → wireless battery model, built-in display.
  • Fine settings, dedicated athlete → wireless app-controlled model, chamber-by-chamber control.
